In this webinar, Child’s i Foundation and the Global Social Service Workforce Alliance explore findings and outcomes from the Strengthening the Social Service Workforce for Family-Based Care project in Uganda. Implemented by the Global Social Service Workforce Alliance and Child’s i Foundation with technical support from Child Frontiers and funding from the Martin James Foundation, the project has learned from, and integrated, the perspectives of care-experienced children, youth and care givers into the training of social service workers. The webinar discusses the participatory assessments conducted with children, families, and care professionals and the training tools developed to equip social service workers to prioritize family-based care. Experts on social service workforce strengthening in Uganda then discuss promising efforts to strengthen the workforce and why integrating the voices of those with lived experience is critical to strengthening the workforce for family care.
