Kevin Nash isn’t expecting a long, back-and-forth slugfest if Goldberg finally steps into the ring with Gunther. In fact, the WWE Hall of Famer straight-up thinks the match could—and maybe should—be over in three minutes.

During the latest Kliq This podcast, Nash floated the idea of Goldberg quickly destroying Gunther as a way to deliver a massive shock to WWE fans and shake up Gunther’s character.

When the host asked Nash whether he thought the match would go 10 minutes, Nash compared the scenario to Goldberg’s quick fight with Brock Lesnar and said a short match wouldn’t necessarily disappoint fans.

“How long did he go with Lesnar the first time? Three? People weren’t disappointed.”

Then he upped the ante, pitching a brutal visual that would leave fans speechless.

“To fking beat Gunther in three fking minutes and then fking leave—stand over him and fking drop the belt on him and leave.”

Nash wasn’t just playing fantasy booker. He genuinely believes a squash loss would flip Gunther’s dominant image and create ripple effects across WWE.

“Why can’t you [have Goldberg squash Gunther]? What a great f**king angle. Every fking babyface now could cut promos on him. He’s got heat by saying that he’s the fking man. You just got—like, you’re not. Something that’s never been done that would add a different layer to the whole complexity of the psychology of that character.”

Goldberg is currently rumored to face Gunther in what could be his final WWE match at Saturday Night’s Main Event XL on July 12, 2025, from State Farm Arena in Atlanta. If this retirement match goes down, the booking decision might be more explosive than the match itself.
