Milo Ventimiglia’s birthday was extra sweet this year, thanks to his daughter, Ke’ala.
“Happy birthday Milo, husband, dada,” Ventimiglia’s wife, Jarah Mariano, wrote via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 8, alongside a white heart emoji.
The This Is Us alum’s spouse, 41, gave fans a rare glimpse at Ventimiglia’s life as a dad with the special tribute, sharing a photo of him holding their baby girl while they cuddled together.
In the snap, Ventimiglia, who turned 48 on Tuesday, pointed at a tree with his left hand and held Ke’ala close in the other.
Ventimiglia wore a “T&C Surf Designs” black T-shirt by RVCA, blue jeans and had a watch on his wrist. He sported a buzzcut, which closely resembled his 5-month-old daughter’s wispy hair, which is slowly coming in. The baby girl wore a pink shirt while spending time with her dad.
This is the first birthday for Ventimiglia as a father after welcoming Ke’ala with Mariano in January. The couple, who quietly tied the knot in September 2023, experienced a series of highs and lows amid their daughter’s arrival.

When Mariano was 38 weeks pregnant, she and Ventimiglia evacuated their Pacific Palisades home in January due to a string of deadly wildfires that eventually destroyed their house. Mariano later revealed via Instagram that both the home they were living in and the house they were in the process of building were destroyed by the fires.
A few weeks later, Mariano announced that she gave birth to Ke’ala on January 23 and that their family was “together, happy, healthy & safe” after escaping the devastation.
“This will be an extended process of rebuilding and grieving for many, but we are feeling optimistic & inspired to welcome all of the exciting newness of our fresh start!” she wrote via Instagram, sharing a photo of the newborn’s feet next to their dog’s paw.
Mariano proceeded to nest away from the limelight with her husband, Ke’ala and their pup, Duke, returning to social media in May to celebrate her first Mother’s Day.
“Thank you my babies for choosing me 💝,” she captioned an Instagram post for the holiday featuring Ke’ala in her arms and the family’s dog by her side.
Ventimiglia, for his part, has remained quiet about this new phase in his life. The Gilmore Girls alum is not on social media and rarely appears on his wife’s page.
The actor did, however, make a surprise cameo on Prime Video’s Countdown alongside fellow WB alum Jensen Ackles during the show’s June 25 premiere. Ventimiglia played Officer Robert Darden, who is killed during the first episode, setting up Ackles’ Mark Meachum to work with a special task force to solve his murder.
