The Central Health Department of the Ministry of Public Health continues to respond the health needs of displaced populations from Mirebalais and Saut d’Eau, as well as refugees from the Dominican Republic, who have taken refuge in Belladère.
Several initiatives are underway, including :
• Awareness-raising and health education to prevent disease;
• Vaccination station at the Belladère border for children (0-23 months) and pregnant women;
• Referral of pregnant women to the Belladère hospital;
• Mobile clinics offering consultations, vaccinations, lab tests, distribution of mosquito nets, condoms, vitamin A, and deworming;
• Tuberculosis screening and case referral;
• Installation of handwashing stations and distribution of Aquatabs water purification tablets.
However, all stakeholders must continue to work towards continuous improvement in all areas related to water, sanitation, and hygiene. True pillars for the survival, health, and dignity of people.
