XGIMI has taken a major step forward in portable projection with the release of the new MoGo 4 and MoGo 4 Laser projectors. Known for delivering quality visuals in a compact form, the MoGo lineup now adds something long overdue: a built-in battery. For the first time, users no longer need to rely on external power to enjoy a cinematic experience on the go.
While previous MoGo projectors offered excellent portability in theory, they still required users to plug them into an outlet or external power bank. With the MoGo 4 series, XGIMI has finally integrated an internal battery, making these projectors truly wireless. This change makes them far better suited for outdoor movie nights, impromptu presentations, or any setting where access to power is limited.
However, there is a caveat. Battery life is rated at 2.5 hours – but only in Eco mode, which reduces brightness by approximately 40%. That may not be enough for a full-length feature film if you’re using the projector at full brightness. To solve this, XGIMI offers an optional Power Base stand, which adds a 20,000mAh battery, significantly boosting runtime while doubling as a stable base for the projector.
Aesthetically and functionally, the MoGo 4 series continues the sleek, user-friendly design seen in the MoGo 3 Pro. The projector rests on a built-in base and features a 180-degree swivel hinge, enabling flexible placement. Whether you want to beam an image on a wall, angle it up toward the ceiling, or set it on a tripod, the MoGo 4 adapts with ease. Despite its polished metallic look, the body is still made of high-quality plastic, keeping weight and cost down without sacrificing style.
The MoGo 4 lineup includes two models suited for different types of users. The MoGo 4 uses an LED light source, delivering respectable brightness and efficiency while keeping the price more accessible. The MoGo 4 Laser upgrades to a laser light source, offering significantly higher brightness and better performance in well-lit environments. It’s ideal for those who plan to use the projector regularly in varying lighting conditions and want a premium viewing experience. You can also upgrade to the MoGo 4 Laser Outdoor Collection, which includes the projector, PowerBase Stand, Outdoor Screen, and Carrying Case, perfect for those who prefer to experience their movies outside.
Both projectors support Auto Keystone Correction and Auto Focus, so setup is quick and painless no matter where you place them.
Another welcome update is the inclusion of a full-size HDMI port – a change from the Micro HDMI used in previous models. This seemingly small detail eliminates the need for special cables or adapters, allowing you to plug in gaming consoles, streaming sticks, and laptops using the standard cables you already have.
Alongside HDMI, the projectors support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so you can wirelessly stream content or connect external speakers and controllers. They’re powered by Android TV, offering access to a wide range of streaming apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+ right out of the box.
The XGIMI MoGo 4 is available for $499, while the MoGo 4 Laser comes in at $799. For more information or to purchase, head to xgimi.com.
