Carlito left WWE after he confirmed WWE didn’t choose to renew his contract and now he has addressed whether he would come back to the company for a third run.
While speaking to D-Von Dudley, Carlito was asked if he ever saw himself returning for a third run with WWE. He explained that he does see a third run in a way, but more like coming in and out, similar to how others have done it.
Carlito said he could definitely see himself popping in for things here and there, especially since there doesn’t seem to be any heat between him and the company.
“I have a third run, but I would see myself like you guys coming in and out, you know what I mean? I could see myself doing stuff like that, coming in, whatever, especially because, you know, I don’t think there’s any heat, right?”
At this stage in his life, Carlito doesn’t think there’s a need for a full wrestling schedule anymore. Instead, he believes doing vignettes or small segments would work just as well, things that would still get over with the crowd and entertain people.
For him, it’s not about replicating that first run with all the constant wrestling. It’s more about showing up, being themselves and playing the characters they created and made famous, which is all that’s really needed now.
“I think at this point and stage of our life, we don’t need to have a full run wrestling. I think vignettes, things like that, small inclement things that we can do that not only would get over, but the people will be entertained. Sure. And it’s kind of like, okay, we don’t need to have what we did in the first run, all that wrestling and doing that. We just go in there and be us, be the characters that we created and made famous, right? That’s it, right?”
This comes after Carlito already made it clear that he was not really bitter about his WWE departure, but he did add that he wanted his storyline with the Judgment Day to end properly. Regardless, only time will tell if Carlito does return to WWE as anything is possible in the world of professional wrestling.
