Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is officially coming to the Mac this week. CD PROJEKT RED has announced that the game will be available on Thursday, July 17 for Macs powered by Apple Silicon through the Mac App Store, GOG.com, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 on the Mac follows the debut of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on the Mac earlier this year.
Apple touted that Cyberpunk 2077 would be available on the Mac sometime in 2025 when it announced the new M4 MacBook Pro lineup last fall. With today’s announcement, Apple and CD PROJEKT RED are making good on that promise.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is a complete version of the open-world action RPG in which players control V, a mercenary operating in a futuristic city focused on power, technology, and body modification. This edition includes the base game featuring Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, as well as the Phantom Liberty expansion, which adds a new storyline with Idris Elba portraying Solomon Reed. It also incorporates all major updates released to date, including Patch 2.3, which introduces new Photo Mode features, additional vehicles, and various gameplay adjustments.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will take full advantage of the power of the Mac and Apple Silicon. The game utilizes Apple’s Metal graphics framework to deliver “smooth performance, sharp visuals, amazing battery life, and seamless gameplay. There’s support for features including path tracing, frame generation, HDR tuning on Apple’s displays, and built-in Spatial Audio with head-tracking for AirPods.
The game is supported on Macs powered by Apple Silicon with 16GB or more of unified memory. Those Macs should run macOS 15.5 for the best experience. Beyond that unified memory requirement, however, Cyberpunk 2077 is compatible with any Apple Silicon Mac, dating all the way back to the M1 chip that debuted in 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077 on the Mac will offer “For this Mac” graphics presets that are individually optimized for every Apple Silicon Mac. There’s support for game controllers as well as compatibility with the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad. CD PROJEKT RED says that Mac users “can expect an experience optimized to their hardware and finely tuned to bring out the full capabilities of the Mac.”
Later this year, Cyberpunk 2077 will also take full advantage of the new features Apple announced at WWDC25 as part of macOS Tahoe. This includes Metal 4 capabilities like Metal FX Frame Interpolation and MetalFX Denoising, which will come in a future update to Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will be available on the Mac App Store, alongside the base configuration of the game on GOG.com, Steam, and Epic Games Store. The game launches on Thursday, July 17.
