Hyatt Regency is getting its time under the lights with a new hotel opening on Broadway in the heart of New York City’s famous Theater District.

The 795-room Hyatt Regency Times Square opened Tuesday following a multimillion-dollar transformation, according to the hotel group. In a celebration of its location, the property features a two-story lobby and glass atrium overlooking the Broadway lights, a brightly lit entry and a special “Mamma Mia!”-themed guest room.

“The hotel’s stunning design, incredible views and exhilarating location is complemented with comfort, convenience and genuine care for our guests, World of Hyatt members and customers,” Mohit Malhotra, the general manager of the Hyatt Regency Times Square, said in a statement, adding the hotel “is the most exciting recent addition to New York City’s hotel landscape.”

Guests will find tufted headboards, marble-topped nightstands and large windows to take in the views in each of the hotel’s 795 rooms. And because the hotel sits in the heart of the city that never sleeps, there are blackout curtains to ensure a restful sleep.

For those wanting a bit more room, the hotel boasts a spacious 969-square-foot penthouse suite complete with expansive views of Times Square and all the way to the Hudson River. The room can also be combined with two other guest rooms for extra space.

But the real gem is the “Mamma Mia!” room, decorated in a Greek isle theme and inspired by the musical’s return to Broadway this August.

The property’s public spaces are well thought out with wood finishes, stone columns, bronze accents and, paying homage to the hotel’s Broadway address, a ceiling installation of translucent disks inspired by a theater marquee. The on-site restaurant, Cue 48, will similarly overlook the lights of 48th Street when it opens.

Rates for the Hyatt Regency Times Square start at $349 per night, according to the hotel group. Travelers using World of Hyatt points can book for as little as 25,000 points per night for a stay in July, according to a search on the hotel’s website.

Beyond the Hyatt Regency Times Square, Hyatt operates nearly 30 other properties in New York City, including the Hyatt Grand Central New York, the Grayson Hotel and the Park Hyatt New York.
