RTH’s New Mirror Takes Cues From Your Favorite Retro Dessert

Cue Destiny’s Child’s iconic hit from the 2000s – Ready To Hang’s latest launch has us nostalgic for the dessert that’s been staging a quiet comeback. We’ve seen jelly reappear in food styling and fashion, and now, thanks to RTH, in interior design. Inspired by the beloved kitchen staple found in pantries across the world, Ready To Hang brings jelly’s translucent quality and sculptural form out of the kitchen and into the home with the Jelly Mirror.

Like its culinary namesake, Jelly is all about adaptability. While the dessert takes the shape of any mold or pan, this version effortlessly conforms to your space, adding a playful, mid-century touch to any room. “I wanted it to feel sweet and a little strange, like something you’d find in a surreal dessert dream,” RTH’s founder Jeffrey Renz shares with Design Milk. It feels just as at home in a chic living room as it does in a whimsical playroom. Crafted not from gelatin but polished resin, the mirror glistens in sunlight, casting jewel-toned shadows that dance across the walls.

With its gelatinous shine and repetitive curves, Jelly looks almost good enough to eat. If you didn’t know better, you might expect it to wobble with the slightest touch. “The biggest challenge was making something feel fluid in a totally solid material,” the founder reveals. “We spent a lot of time refining the curves and the resin mold, getting the shape just imperfect enough to feel alive. It had to look like it was about to wiggle, even though it never would.”

Many of us have fond memories of Jell-O, including Renz. “As a kid, I was obsessed with the way jelly moved, how it held its shape and also surrendered to every touch,” he reminisces. “There was something hypnotic about it, and maybe even a little sensual. I remember pressing spoons into Jell-O and watching it slowly return to stillness. That memory definitely fed into this design.” By reinterpreting a retro dessert through the lens of contemporary design, Ready To Hang transforms a familiar form into something fresh, functional, and delightfully unexpected. Both the Cherry and Honey versions are equally delectable in their own way, but this Jelly is made to last – and shine (literally) in its new resurrected era.
