Honor has officially launched the Honor Pad GT2 Pro, its latest gaming-focused tablet, featuring notable upgrades over its predecessor. Announced alongside the Honor X70 on July 15, the GT2 Pro introduces improvements in performance, display technology, and audio capabilities, positioning it as a strong contender in the gaming tablet segment.

The tablet maintains a similar design to the previous model, including flat sides and a rectangular camera module labeled “GT.” However, it is now available in two new colors: Crystal White, featuring a dynamic wave-like finish, and Phantom Grey, with a uniform matte tone.

A key upgrade is the processor. The new model replaces the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 with the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, offering a noticeable performance boost. It is available in configurations with 8 GB, 12 GB, or 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of storage.

The display also sees a significant enhancement. The GT2 Pro features a 12.5-inch AMOLED panel with an estimated 3K resolution (likely 3000 x 1920 pixels), and a high 165 Hz refresh rate. This makes it one of the few tablets to offer such a fast display, ideal for gaming. One of the first games optimized for this feature is Crossfire: Gunfight King.

Audio quality is another focus, with the tablet featuring an 8-speaker stereo system certified with IMAX Enhanced, delivering an immersive sound experience.

Battery capacity has been slightly increased from its predecessor’s 10,050 mAh to 10,100 mAh, all while maintaining a slim 5.8 mm thickness. However, the weight has increased slightly to 580 grams.

Other specifications are still unconfirmed, including details about the camera, charging technology, and dimensions, though the device is expected to support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 66W fast charging, and to run Android 15 with MagicOS 9.0.

The Honor Pad GT2 Pro is currently available for pre-order in China, with official sales starting on July 28. Prices vary by configuration:

  • 8 GB + 128 GB: 2,499 yuan (~$350)
  • 8 GB + 256 GB: 2,699 yuan (~$380)
  • 12 GB + 256 GB: 2,999 yuan (~$420)
  • 16 GB + 512 GB: 3,399 yuan (~$480)

At this time, there are no confirmed plans for international release, and it is likely that the tablet will remain exclusive to Asian markets, as with the previous model.
