Smart doorbells are now standard fare for modern homes, but most offer little beyond video monitoring and push notifications. The Aqara Doorbell Camera Hub G410 takes a different approach entirely. Not only is it a stylish and capable smart doorbell, it’s also a powerful smart home hub that could become the central brains of your entire setup.

The G410 strikes a careful balance between modern tech and design subtlety. Available in three color options, its form factor is sleek and polished, with a premium plastic build that feels durable in hand. While slightly bulkier than some ultra minimalist competitors – particularly those without batteries – it’s far from obtrusive. In fact, it manages to look like a purposeful piece of smart home hardware rather than just another tech gadget. Having used the previous model for years, I can attest to its durability in real-world conditions.

A large, clearly defined doorbell button sits front and center, eliminating any ambiguity for guests – a welcome change from some smart doorbells that make you guess where to press. Above it, a 2K resolution camera offers a 175-degree field of view and includes infrared LEDs for solid night vision. While the camera isn’t designed specifically for package detection, it provides a broad view of everything happening at your front door.

Instead of relying solely on smartphone alerts, the G410 includes an indoor chime unit with a built-in 95dB speaker. Powered via USB-C, the chime can be wall-mounted or tucked discreetly into a cabinet – just as long as it has access to power. It’s a small touch, but one that makes the overall experience far more flexible and reliable.

What really separates the G410 from a sea of lookalike doorbell cameras is its impressive sensor technology and deep integration with smart home ecosystems. It includes a built-in mmWave radar sensor, typically found in higher-end security systems. This enables highly accurate presence detection and significantly reduces false motion alerts – a common pain point with many smart cameras.

But the G410’s standout feature is hidden in plain sight: it doubles as a Matter and Zigbee smart home hub. That means you can connect a range of compatible smart devices directly to it – no extra hub required. While the camera itself can’t yet be added to other Matter ecosystems (as Matter doesn’t currently support cameras), the G410 can still act as a bridge, helping your devices speak the same smart language. It also works seamlessly with Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and more, making it an excellent choice no matter which platform you prefer.

The G410 can run on replaceable batteries or hardwired to your compatible doorbell wires (for continuous power). This dual-power approach ensures the device works in virtually any home configuration.
