Gracie Hunt is proud to say she’s dating her best friend.
Three months after soft-launching her relationship with Derek Green, Hunt, 26, shared a montage of moments with him via Instagram, captioned “Friends since 2017 🫶🏼.”
The text “‘You look happier.’ Thank you I’m dating my best friend” appeared over the video, which was set to Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me.”
The video showed Green, 24, and the Kansas City Chiefs heiress doing everything from paddleboarding and riding bikes to dancing and axe throwing.
Hunt, the daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt and his wife, Tavia, previously dated Cody Keith, before breakup rumors began swirling in the spring.
Like Keith, Green is a former college football player, suiting up Southern Methodist University from 2019 to 2021. He is also the son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green and now works in sports operations in Kansas City.
Though their romance may be new, Gracie, also an SMU alum, appears to have her family’s support.
“I’m crying 😭❤️😍🔥,” Tavia wrote in the comments.
“This makes me so happy,” her younger sister, Ava, added.
Gracie first teased their relationship in early April when she shared photos of them at Arrowhead Stadium with her arms around his neck via her Instagram story. She did not reveal Green’s name at the time.
She captioned the photos, “After meeting 7.5 years ago in this place…all along there was some invisible string ❤️.” (The caption is a nod to Swift’s song, “Invisible String.” Gracie and Swift have become close since the singer began dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.)
That post came just days after Keith appeared to hint that the two had broken up, sharing a carousel of photos with Gracie nowhere to be found.
“March dump!” he wrote in the caption. “There was a little bit of work, a little bit of play, but most importantly, spectacular memories were made!”
Two weeks after teasing Green’s identity, the couple appeared at the White House Correspondents Dinner, sitting at the Fox News table and posing for photos together.
Since then, Green has been a frequent presence on Gracie’s social media. In mid-May, Gracie shared a carousel via Instagram with many images featuring the two of them together, including shots of them holding hands, working out and doing shots.
“My heart is full,” she captioned the post. “Grateful for some much-needed time to rest, reflect, and reset after a whirlwind few months post-football season. So thankful for time with the people who keep me grounded, remind me I’m loved, and never fail to make me laugh. Swipe for a few favorite snapshots from life lately.”
