iciHaiti - USA : 109 Haitians repatriated to Port-au-Prince

On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, as part of their immigration policy, U.S. authorities repatriated 109 Haitians by plane. Among these compatriots expelled by the Trump administration were some convicted by the U.S. courts, but most were in an irregular immigration situation.

Among those repatriated was Williamson Dossous, arrested in Florida for arms and ammunition trafficking. He is accused of attempting to illegally ship an arsenal hidden in a container bound for the port of Cap-Haitien. The shipment, intercepted in January by U.S. customs, contained undeclared firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition. He is expected to answer questions from the Haitian justice system soon.

Haitian influencer Hervé Laplante, aka “Laplanta” popular with young Haitians in the diaspora on TikTok, is among those repatriated. He is accused of having obtained his legal status in the United States fraudulently, notably by being married to two women simultaneously. Found guilty by the U.S. courts of false declaration, he has been subject to a permanent deportation order since October 18, 2024.

The 109 Haitians were received by the National Office of Migration (ONM), in coordination with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and several partner institutions. The reception process was limited to basic administrative support, in an already very tense humanitarian context.
