Finding Your Life Purpose with Wild Oat Flower Essence

The topic of using Wild Oat for finding your calling or life purpose came up recently—a topic that has been of great importance to me throughout my life. Dr. Edward Bach thought it was of greatest importance—that being misdirected away from one’s life purpose by misguided family and friends was one of the most common curses he came across in his professional life.

And yet, a person could be forgiven for thinking: is there really such a thing as “life purpose”?

Well, if you think life purpose is the equivalent of what you want to be when you grow up, I think probably yes. But not necessarily if you think that it means that is what you must do for a living.

Think of it like this: a purpose to get up in the morning could be you love your mother, you love your friends, your partner, or your pets. That’s good enough for a lot of people. Other people really really want to “do good in the world.” That’s a different purpose, although it could be fulfilled in your relationships with people, too.

A more specific purpose could be to excel at a particular path in life: to be the best [fill in the blank]. You might think that a person would die once that purpose is fulfilled, and that might be the case. But more often they can find purpose in either more of the same or more variations in the same general direction. This is, for example, the scientist in search of science “gold” or a goldsmith in search of the next gorgeous art project. A diamond in the rough becomes a more and more perfected piece over time. We try, try again, try it another way, and so on.

More specifically, believe it or not, is how we excel at the “game of life.” Do we want to play it this way or that? Do we get up in the morning full of vim and vigor, eager for another chance to try again or get lost along the way, not knowing which way to go to get back on track?

That’s where Wild Oat flower essence can come in handy.

Maybe you thought you wanted to be an artist because everyone marveled at your art. But maybe you really wanted to do art that brought the inner workings of nature to light, like a Georgia O’Keefe forcing people to see the voluptuousness of flowers. O’Keeffe actually did this to the extent of ultimately ending her relationship with over-controlling Alfred Stieglitz over his refusal to allow her to paint her flowers for low pay in a women’s restroom at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. She eventually moved to New Mexico without him to follow the dictates of her own heart.

That’s how strong life purpose can be. But it can also be much more ephemeral, as if it doesn’t exist at all. It shows up in how you present yourself in the world. Why this way, but not that? What do you hope to accomplish? It could be as simple as not bringing pain to others. It can be as magnificent as being a guiding light to other people. And everything in between.

Flower essences are used to assist with mind-body-spirit interactions and individual results may vary. They are extremely dilute which makes them quite safe. But because so little physical substance can be detected in a flower essence solution, these products are presumed to work on an energetic or vibrational level—something that cannot be adequately tested by western scientific methods. Claims made by me, therefore, are based on personal experiences and the evidence of the combined multiple decades of case notes by Dr. Edward Bach as well as Healing Herbs and Flower Essence Services (the companies who make the ingredients I use in my products).
