According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, “Overall employment of social workers is projected to grow 12 percent from 2020 to 2030, faster than the average for all occupations.” Clearly, there isn’t a shortage in social work. Nevertheless, you still may be wondering if social work is for you. Taking a gap year or two to gain experience is an excellent way to determine whether or not you should pursue your master of social work.
