Lenovo has introduced its new Legion Magnetic Cooler in China, a compact and affordable cooling accessory aimed at mobile gamers and power users. Priced at 149 yuan (approximately $20), this device offers powerful thermal performance in a lightweight form factor, helping smartphones manage heat more efficiently during intensive use.

The cooler features a 10W semiconductor refrigeration module that uses thermoelectric technology to actively cool the device. According to Lenovo, it can reduce the surface temperature of a smartphone by up to 68°F (20°C) under ideal conditions. This level of cooling is beneficial for extended gaming sessions, video streaming, or other processor-intensive tasks on mobile devices.

The Legion Magnetic Cooler has a 1846mm² heat dissipation area and supports three cooling modes: Ice Cool, Extreme Cold, and Ice Sealed, each offering different fan speeds and cooling intensities. The fan can spin up to 5000 RPM in its most powerful mode, yet operates quietly at around 30dB, making it suitable for quieter environments.

Key design features include a real-time temperature display and RGB ambient lighting, which provide both visual appeal and useful feedback for gamers. The cooler is powered via a USB Type-C connection (5V/2A) and has a waterproof internal PCB, which protects against moisture buildup from condensation.

Attachment is handled via a strong magnetic mount, compatible with MagSafe-supported phones. For non-magnetic devices, Lenovo includes an adhesive magnetic pad, as well as a detachable elastic clip with a 91mm clamping range and anti-slip silicone pads, ensuring a secure fit for most phones and cases.

Weighing just 68 grams and measuring 64mm x 26mm, the Legion Magnetic Cooler is designed to be portable without compromising on performance. It serves as a practical solution for mobile gamers looking for enhanced thermal management without bulk.

In parallel, Lenovo is expanding its mobile ecosystem. The company recently teased the Xiaoxin Pro GT Gaming Tablet, which will feature high-end specifications, and launched the Yoga Tab Plus in India, offering a 12.7-inch 144Hz display and a 10,200mAh battery aimed at entertainment and productivity users. We are still waiting for information on price and availability outside the Chinese market.
