Conference’s organizing theme is “Mobilizing Caribbean Sociologies: Bridging Theory, Method, and Fields of Sociology for Sustainable Caribbean Development.” CASA has extended the deadline for abstracts to August 15, 2025.

Description: The organizers of the Caribbean Sociology Conference, to be held at the University College of the Cayman Islands, September 24th – 26th, invite scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to contribute papers that explore the transformative role of sociology in advancing sustainable development within the Caribbean. This year’s theme, Mobilizing Caribbean Sociologies: Bridging Theory, Method, and Fields of Sociology for Sustainable Caribbean Development, focuses on the interdisciplinary and applied nature of sociological research and seeks to connect various concentrations within the discipline and to harness these for Caribbean development.

We aim to foster critical discussions around how Caribbean sociologies, with their unique perspectives and regional insights, can address pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges.
