Since it’s just days away, how about joining me for a little project, guaranteed to add to your overall happiness quotient? One of the best ways to improve your mood is to practice gratitude so let’s get happy in August with daily practice in giving thanks!
One of my friends shared this in a group chat and it was too good not to share. Here’s why: August is typically not a month we’re excited about. Late summer means the weather is hot and humid, school is starting or getting ready to start and there’s no holiday weekend! Please excuse me for saying this, but I have often referred to August as the ‘armpit of summer’ – I know, I know, it’s horrible.
How I’m Doing This
To keep the focus on gratitude and happiness, I’m making this easy. I’m not using a journal, I’ll jot down my answers on my planner. Some days I am may not get past just thinking of the answer. Recalling a happy memory or time. I’m more concerned about the recollection rather than the act of journaling. Unless you journal regularly, then by all means write it in your journal!
But if we make this too difficult, we’re not likely to keep it up. So even if you cannot do each day, do some days – anything will help. Looking back at happy memories and taking stock of the blessings we have brings joy and peace, so let’s do it!
