There’s Less Than A Month To Try To Exfiltrate Your Passwords
If you took advantage of Dropbox Passwords, their take on a password manager which they offered all their users for the past four years you should figure out how to export them. You should then figure out how to secure the exported file, seeing as how it will contain a lot of information you don’t want anyone to get their hands on. The timeline is relatively tight, as of August 28th the app will be view only and password autofills will stop working. A few weeks later the extension will stop working altogether and on October 28 the app will no longer exist.
That October date marks when Dropbox states they will delete all data stored by Dropbox Passwords, and users will no longer be able to export their saved logins and credit card data. This will hopefully be permanent but unfortunately Dropbox and other cloud providers have a history of accidentally bringing back files that should have been permanently deleted long ago. If you do make use of Dropbox passwords you might want to take an extra step and upload some incorrect passwords after saving your proper credentials. A few lockouts are a lot better than someone else getting access to one or more of your accounts.
