Leak Suggests PS6 Will Cost The Same As PS5 With Triple The Power

A new rumor suggests that Sony won’t be spiking the cost of their next-gen console, rather keeping it in line with the PS5, but amping up the power. Of note, though, even the source warns viewers this is based on a 2023 presentation hosted by AMD.

Leaker Moore’s Law is Dead (via Engadget) shared potential specs, pricing, and release timing. Supposedly, the next-gen will feature three times the rasterization and about two times the power of the PS5 Pro. It’s also alleged to have backwards compatibility with both the PS5 and PS4.

The big thing, though, is the price, which the leaker claims will potentially be $499. If true, this would put a massive win in the books for Sony, as not only would it buck beliefs surrounding the console being priced higher than the $700 PS5 Pro, we can also certainly see this console selling even more like hotcakes regardless of its launch lineup thanks to what will no doubt be a strong third-party support following its launch.

What do you think? What price is too much for the PS6? Let us know below!
