Gabionnage in La Source nears completion

In La Source, in the commune of Bassin Bleu (Northwest), gabionnage work is progressing and is nearing completion. These interventions are part of the Safety Net Strengthening Program for Vulnerable Populations, led by the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) and funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Under the technical supervision of CARE, a recognized organization dedicated to supporting local communities, this project restores hope to residents. The goal is to protect their daily lives from the impacts of severe weather by limiting risks to their lives and property.

Laurent Saint-Cyr talks with former President Prosper Avril

On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Laurent Saint-Cyr, President pro tempore of the Transitional Council, met with former President Prosper Avril, in a spirit of dialogue and national unity. The two men discussed the need to strengthen the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd’H) and provide them with all the necessary resources to accomplish their mission, as well as the importance of close cooperation between the army and the police to intensify operations against criminal groups.

SPNH-17’s demands

The union “calls for an urgent strengthening of material and technological resources, as well as a significant increase in police personnel, essential to effectively address the growing challenges of insecurity and the rise of armed gangs,” recalling that “the police force will only be able to fully play its role if it has adequate resources : armored vehicles, helicopters, drones, etc…”

Cap-Haitien : Tribute to those who often work in the shadows

As part of the city’s 355th anniversary celebrations, the Cap-Haïtien Municipal Commission organized a major celebration on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in honor of the city’s firefighters, road workers, housekeepers, civil protection officers, and municipal security officers. This friendly gathering aimed to salute the commitment, dedication, and daily efforts of these women and men who contribute every day to the cleanliness, safety, and smooth running of the city. Through this initiative, the Municipal Commission reaffirms its appreciation for those who often work behind the scenes, but whose work is essential to the life of the city.

Clercine 8 Culvert Completed

The Tabarre City Hall, with the support of United Nations Peacebuilding and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), has completed the rehabilitation of the Clercine 8 culvert. The project meets the needs of the community, improves services, strengthens security, and builds trust among residents.
