McLaren is the second-oldest active team in racing, first setting the stage for greatness at the 1966 Monaco Grand Prix. The team had no transporter or van, so they loaded the precious chassis onto a trailer attached to an American Ford Fairlane station wagon. After decades of experimentation, refinement, and engineering, McLaren is now the name synonymous with F1 racing, and with that, speed. Speed is quite a virtue in racing, yet is nothing without good handling – and Bowers & Wilkins know how to handle great audio, releasing the new Pi8 McLaren Edition earbuds.

The audio brand recently extended their relationship with McLaren Automotive, to include the McLaren Formula 1 Team. A recent surge of popularity for the sport in pop culture, including F1: The Movie and LEGO’s F1 Collection fosters a sense of the thrill in new generations of fans, bringing this winning connection to a new audience. With this collaboration, Bowers & Wilkins is now the Official Audio Partner of McLaren.

With the signature Galvanic Grey and Papaya orange finish, the Pi8 McLaren Edition earbuds are a sweet surprise. Satin finishing and an orange interior create a sense of power, and the Pi8 backs that up with multiple awards for it’s reference-standard hi-res audio performance, elegant design, and premium materials. Featuring Carbon Cone drive units, aptX™ Lossless sound quality, and superior battery life compared to the Pi7, along with a customizable fit, real audiophiles will really appreciate the specs on these. Nuance and detail find their balance in the Pi8, reflecting the speed of McLaren in concert with the sound of Bowers & Wilkins.

Bowers & Wilkins continues to build on the vision set out by John Bowers, believing that loudspeakers should neither add nor subtract from the original sound – a principle they call True Sound, delivering the artist’s real intent as honestly as possible. Constantly on the quest for perfection, they construct high-quality, bespoke audio products, everything is under intense material and technical scrutiny, from earbuds to fully built out systems.
