Editora Educación Emergente (EEE) presents the launch of El archivo en fragmentos: voces, cartografías y bricolaje en la escritura de Marta Aponte Alsina [The Archives in Fragments: Voices, Cartographies, and Bricolage in the Writing of Marta Aponte Alsina], the essay collection edited by Áurea María Sotomayor (see our previous post New Book: El archivo en fragmentos). This event takes place on August 14, 2025, at 7:00pm, at Fundación Humanidades Puerto Rico, Cuartel Ballajá (third floor) in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The book will be introduced by César A. Description (EEE): In El archivo en fragmentos: voces, cartografías y bricolaje en la escritura de Marta Aponte Alsina, Áurea María Sotomayor has curated a rigorous, tender, and generous volume on the writing craft of Marta Aponte Alsina. The result is a communal text that brings together interviews, as well as thematic and stylistic analyses that examine Caribbean cartographies, diasporas, return journeys, dispersed voices, ruins, and ecologies within a theoretical framework that refers to David Harvey, Andrea Cavarero, Édouard Glissant, Jacques Derrida, and Walter Benjamin. This is an essential piece of research for understanding Marta Aponte Alsina’s thought and writing.
