Ballet des Amériques / CABT is seeking technically proficient, classically trained dancers with great versatility, musicality, and remarkable stage presence who are fast learners. We aspire to bring together dancers who strive to become great artists and work well with the dancers, the director, and the company as a whole. The company is looking for individuals whose ethical awareness is important to them.
We are looking for mature individuals who are eager for in-depth work, detail-oriented, open-minded, and motivated.
We are bringing together dance artists who possess the desire for the advancement, growth, and development of the company and themselves. Please note that the repertoire is musically and technically challenging.
Ballet des Amériques/Carole Alexis Ballet Theatre is not a repertory company, nor a union company. The company presents and disseminates the work of choreographer Carole Alexis. Carole Alexis’s choreographic writing is multicultural and takes roots in the African Diaspora.

Your video will be used as a pre-registration. The video should contain the original soundtrack of the music.
1- Your video is reviewed,
2 – You will be scheduled for an in-person audition.
3 – The subject line should include “Carole Alexis Ballet Theatre – Audition”.
4 – All applicants must have the proper documentation to work in the U.S. (i.e.: work permit, Green card, U.S. Citizen, etc.) and passport.
POSITION DETAILS
- Available Positions: three men and two women.
- Company Dancer and Trainee contracts/agreements will be from June 2025 through July 2026. Please note that the company performs regularly.
- Both Company Dancers and Trainees rehearse approximately 9 to 15 hours/week for approximately September to July.
Salary/Wage
Company Dancers are paid $16.50 to $20/hour for rehearsals and receive $150-200 per performance day, depending on level, seniority, and the scale and budget of the event. Trainees receive partial or full scholarships and receive $50-$80 for performance day.
Tours or Theatre engagements fees may vary between $550 to $1200 for weekly engagements (Example; touring).
The payment range is based on experience.
When the Company tours, Company Members and Trainees receive additional per diem.

Carole Alexis: Founder and Director of Ballet des Amériques, Carole Alexis is a highly acclaimed French-American choreographer, a gifted dance educator and pedagogue, and a multi-faceted innovator in the performing arts who began her wide-ranging career as a child prodigy. At the age of 13, she was commissioned by Jean-Paul Césaire, Director of the SERMAC, a performing arts center created by Aimé Césaire, to choreograph her first major work for the Festival de Fort-de-France in Martinique, directing and creating original choreography for a company of dancers nearly twice her age.
