Ingredients:
2 cups water
1-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced
10-12 fresh tulsi (holy basil) leaves
1 tsp dried turmeric root or 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp black peppercorns
1 small stick of cinnamon
2-3 cloves
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
1 tsp honey (optional)
1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:
Boil the Water: Start by boiling the water in a saucepan.
Add the Ingredients: Once the water starts to boil, add the sliced ginger, tulsi leaves, turmeric root/powder, black peppercorns, cinnamon stick, cloves, fennel seeds, and carom seeds.
Simmer: Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the ingredients to release their beneficial compounds into the water.
Strain the Kada: After simmering, strain the kada into a cup to remove the solid ingredients.
Add Honey and Lemon (Optional): If you prefer a sweeter taste, add honey. You can also add lemon juice for additional vitamin C and flavor.
Serve Hot: Drink the kada while it’s warm for the best effects.
