Italy: Following a renovation, Starhotels Group has reopened the Hotel Gabrielli in Venice as a five-star property.
Located on the Riva degli Schiavoni close to Piazza San Marco, Hotel Gabrielli is housed in a 14th-century palazzo and has been owned by the Perkhofer family since 1856.
Designer Andrea Auletta and his studio led the property’s renovation.
The hotel features 66 rooms and suites, a private garden, a spa with sauna, hammam, and treatment room for two, a restaurant led by executive chef Mirko Pistorello, and two bars – one of which is located on the rooftop.
It is now operated by Starhotels as part of its Collezione brand, and joins The Leading Hotels of the World.
“With Hotel Gabrielli, we complete a vision we have long held for Venice: to offer our guests two complementary yet distinct experiences in one of the world’s most beautiful cities,” said Elisabetta Fabri, Starhotels‘ president and CEO.
“After Splendid Venice, behind Piazza San Marco, we now bring our excellence to Riva degli Schiavoni. Today, we open the doors to what we aspire to become Venice’s new signature address. Here, guests won’t simply visit the city, they’ll experience it at its most luminous, from the lagoon’s most privileged vantage as part of an exclusive community.”
