The Discord Fans Have Expressed Might Overrule Greed
We have been waiting a very long time to see Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. It’s been so long you can’t even consider it a sequel to the first Vampire: The Masquerade game as White Wolf have changed the RPG to the point the two games are barely related by blood. This has led to fans being rather sensitive about it’s progress and the recent announcement that two of the six playable clans, the Toreador and Lasombra, will be day one DLC paid content, or buried behind the extra cost of the Premium edition. In comparison, the original launched with seven Clans available, no extra charge.
The Chinese Room is famous for this type of cash grab, and were defending this decision at gamescom 2025, suggesting that these two Clans represent effort above and beyond the original scope of the game. It seems Paradox may disapprove of this decision, thanks at least in part to the huge outcry on the games Discord channel. Paradox has yet to specify if these two Clans will be available in the standard version of Bloodlines 2, but plan to let us know sometime before launch.
It seems that game publishers are starting to pay attention to their customers, as we have seen several reversals on launch prices and other shenanigans.
