Suki Waterhouse offset a nautical-looking outfit with romantic yet edgy Mary Jane flats at the Venice Film Festival 2025 on Saturday.
The actress and singer was snapped exiting a water taxi in square-toe leather Maje shoes, rendered in a rich burgundy shade. Retailing for $410, the glossy flats featured two straps — one across the foot and the other around the ankle — adorned with flat metal studs, a sought-after embellishment in the accessories department this year. The back strap is removable, according to the product description. Though they’re billed as flats, the silhouette has a tiny 0.4in heel, making them a more practical alternative to stilettos. Maje’s Mary Janes come in black and silver, too.

As for her outfit, the “Daisy Jones & the Six” star was decked out in pieces from the Paris-based brand. On top, Waterhouse donned Maje’s white and navy striped tee. She teamed the top with a white flared crepe skirt, which boasted a removable belt and pockets. Waterhouse went with a matchy-matchy accessories moment, toting around the label’s maroon distressed leather bag. She finished the outfit with oversized square-shaped frames and wore her blonde hair in loose waves. Waterhouse is at this year’s festival to promote her forthcoming documentary “Broken English,” which also stars Tilda Swinton and George MacKay.

This month, for instance, Anya Taylor-Joy wore a white Sam Edelman pair at Formula 1’s Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest, while Emma Myers slipped into a block-heeled look during the “Wednesday” Season 2 press tour. Brands like VIVAIA, Wales Bonner and Loeffler Randall have taken the trend one step further, releasing Mary Jane sneakers.
