Unfinished Business: Ryan Griffiths vs Lewis Morris II is on
Their first fight was epic, and on October 24th, Ryan Griffiths and Lewis Morris will face off once again, topping a stacked BCB Promotions card at the Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton.
Calls for a rematch between Midlands Area featherweight champion Griffiths and Morris happened immediately after their March 8th clash last year, a pulsating 10-round war that saw Griffiths emerge with a razor-thin 96-94 points win.
It was a breakout performance from 24-year-old Dudley man, Griffiths, who has since gone on to defend the belt he won that night in another fight-of-the-year contender against Jack Dillingham, which ended in a draw, tied at 95-95, in June.
Frustrated by the decision, a motivated Morris, 23 from Walsall, came to national attention with a gutsy televised performance against top prospect Joe McGrail, and has won his last two fights against Mohammed Wako and Fernando Valdez on points in May and July, respectively.
Both boxers have improved since their first battle and this rematch promises to be another classic.
The undercard sees Wolverhampton’s freshly crowned Midlands Area Super Featherweight Champion Brandon Bethell return to the venue where he won his belt in front of hundreds of supporters against Nico Ogbeide.
Highly touted Telford talent Bradley Thompson boxes for the first time this year as he closes in on his first title shot.
Six other unbeaten talents are all in action. James Griffiths, Ebonie Cotton, Mia Holland, Regan Williams and Callum Seedhouse will all be looking to keep their streaks intact, and big-hitting Jacob Lloyd looks to bounce back from his first defeat.
Tickets are available now, priced at £45 for general admission and £80 for VIP, from the boxers directly or by emailing info@bcb-promotions.com.
