“Love cures people—both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it.”—Karl Menninger
In my last blog post I offered a flower essence formula for Healing the Activist Heart and explained what I had in mind for that. Basically, a heart in pain tends to shut down in self-protection, and when we are fearful that is more likely to happen. And that can lead to lack of sleep and over-driven behavior that can overwhelm and wear us down further.
But I note that there are two other formulas I am reaching for now:
- Open-Hearted Loving Scented Spray or Scented oil, and
- Support for Troubled Times Scented Spray or Scented oil
- Open-Hearted Loving Flower Essence Dropper or Spray
- Support for Trouble Times Flower Essence Dropper or Spray
Open Hearted Loving
- Chamomile: for soothing oversensitivity, calming tension and over-activated emotions
- Rock Water: for lightening up and being less hard on yourself
- Larch: for more confidence especially when expressing yourself
- Walnut: for a feeling of inner protection and safety while attempting to make changes
- Holly: for soothing a hurting heart and feeling open to giving and receiving love again
Support for Troubled Times
- Splendid Mariposa Lily: for when you need deep mothering because of alienation from others
- Green-Cross Gentian: for strength to persist when you don’t feel like you can manage it
- Star of Bethlehem: for deep soothing comfort in times of trauma, pain, or grief
- Self-Heal: for rallying your inner healing resources and feeling a sense of inner wholeness

Flower essences are used to assist with mind-body-spirit interactions and individual results may vary. They are extremely dilute which makes them quite safe. But because so little physical substance can be detected in a flower essence solution, these products are presumed to work on an energetic or vibrational level—something that cannot be adequately tested by western scientific methods. Claims made by me, therefore, are based on personal experiences and the evidence of the combined multiple decades of case notes by Dr. Edward Bach as well as Healing Herbs and Flower Essence Services (the companies who make the ingredients I use in my products). This is not, however, accepted medical evidence or substantiated scientific evidence from a modern allopathic point of view. I am not a medical doctor or licensed healthcare practitioner.
