For decades, Edo State has been a nightmare for travelers due to terrible road conditions. As the gateway between the South South, South East, South West and even North Central Nigeria, millions of people pass through Edo every year — but bad roads have made journeys long, expensive, and frustrating.

In this video, I drive through the Benin–Asaba road and the Benin–Ore road to show you:
✅ The current condition of the roads in 2025
✅ Ongoing construction and progress made so far under the HDMI initiative
✅ How the bad roads affect local people, motorists and businesses
✅ Interviews with a trader and a resident sharing their real experiences.

Under the Nigerian Highway Development and Management Initiative (HDMI), Edo State is benefiting from two out of the 12 concessioned roads: Benin–Ore and Benin–Asaba. But the question remains — will these projects finally end Edo’s road nightmare?
