Naoya Inoue vs Alan Picasso set for Christmas cracker on December 27

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is set for a sporting spectacle on December 27, 2025, as Naoya Inoue, Japan’s undisputed super-bantamweight king, headlines a historic boxing card at Mohammed Abdo Arena against undefeated Mexican prospect Alan David Picasso (32-0-1, 17 KOs).

This blockbuster event, titled Ring V: Night of the Samurai, announced by HE Turki Alalshikh and streaming globally on DAZN as well as Lemino in Japan, marks not only Inoue’s first Saudi Arabia appearance, but also showcases a stacked lineup featuring the cream of Japanese boxing talent.

It’s ‘The Monster’s’ sixth defence of his undisputed super-bantamweight championships, placing him as one of the greatest 122lbs fighters of all time.

His dominance over Murodjon Akhmadaliev in his last fight in September 2025 led promoter Bob Arum to praise him as “a complete fighter”.

25-year-old Mexican, Picasso, hasn’t lost in 33 bouts, with 32 victories and just one draw early on in his career, in his fifth fight, a six-rounder cut short in the fourth round via a technical decision.

He has won NABF, WBC Silver and Youth Continental titles at super-bantamweight to become ranked WBC #1 and WBO #3.

He won his last fight in July on the Manny Pacquiao vs Mario Barrios undercard at the MGM Grand, securing a mixed decision over Kyonsuke Kameda.

He has fought just three times in the States, with the rest of his 30 fights taking place in his native Mexico.
