Disney+ is increasing its prices for several of its bundles and standalone plans, with price changes going into effect Oct. 21.

The announcement comes at a tumultuous time for Disney, which faced criticism for its Sept. 17 suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! over Kimmel’s comments about far-right commentator Charlie Kirk’s killer. The backlash led users to cancel their Disney+ and Hulu accounts in order to boycott Disney. On Sept. 22, Disney announced that Kimmel would return to air Sept. 23.

Disney+’s price hikes have become a yearly tradition, with the streaming service increasing prices in Dec. of 2022, and Oct. of 2023 and 2024. How much will Disney+ cost going forward? Let’s break it down.

How much will Disney+ standalone plans cost after price increases?

Both of Disney+’s standalone plans will be getting more expensive come Oct. 21. The ad-supported Disney+ plan will increase by $2 to cost $11.99 per month, while Disney+ premium will increase by $3 to cost $18.99 per month. Annually, Disney+ premium will increase from $159.99 per year to $189.99 per year.

How do Disney+’s new prices compare to other streaming services?

The shift makes Disney+’s ad-supported tier the most expensive across the major streaming services. Netflix, Peacock, and Paramount+’s all cost $7.99 per month, while HBO Max’s costs $9.99 per month. A Prime Video subscription by itself without an Amazon Prime membership costs $8.99 per month. Hulu will also be increasing its prices on Oct. 21, with its ad-supported tier costing the same amount as Disney+’s: $11.99.

How much will Disney+ bundles cost after price increases?

Disney+’s many bundle plans are also getting hit by price increases. The ad-supported Hulu and Disney+ bundle will go from $10.99 per month to $12.99 per month. The premium Hulu and Disney+ bundle will remain the same, still costing $19.99 per month.

Both the ad-supported and select premium versions of the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select bundles will be getting pricier. The ad-supported bundle will go from $16.99 to $19.99, while the premium bundle (which still has ads for ESPN) will go from $26.99 to $29.99.

Users will no longer be able to purchase or switch into the Disney+ Premium, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle, which comes with ads for both Hulu and ESPN Select, but not for Disney+. Neither the ad-supported nor premium versions of the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited bundle will be impacted by the price hikes. The ad-supported tier remains at $35.99 per month, while the premium version remains at $44.99 per month.
