I’ve been genuinely touched by how many of you embraced my original Blueberry Noise. It’s been one of my unexpectedly popular experiments. What started as a curiosity (recording the sound of blueberries rolling, pouring, and tapping across different surfaces) ended up becoming something that many people found oddly soothing and perfect for sleep. The soft textures, natural rhythms, and gentle tonal quality seemed to strike a chord.
Now, I’m excited to share the next step in that journey: Dark Blueberry Sleep Noise.
While the original had a lightness to it, this version goes deeper. I wanted to see what would happen if I took that same natural, organic core and wrapped it in something darker, richer, and more grounding. Something for when you need a deeper calm. A fuller, more immersive sound to help quiet a restless mind.
To do that, I went back to the original blueberry recordings (pouring, rolling, tapping) and used them as the base. From there, I introduced lower frequencies and deeper tones, created using my MIDI keyboard and elongation techniques. These new layers added weight and depth, turning the bright softness of the original into something more atmospheric and enveloping.
I also blended in deeper violet and blue noise to give the soundscape a smooth, velvety top end, and used subtle bass pulses to create a sense of slow movement, almost like being gently rocked in a dark, cool space.
The result is Dark Blueberry Sleep Noise: a fuller, moodier take on the original. Perfect for winding down, letting go, and slipping into deep, uninterrupted rest.
Sleep long and sleep well, friends!
