Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders is attracting interest from PSV Eindhoven and Strasbourg this summer according to reports.
The Blues are set for another busy summer and could look to sell as many as seven or eight players in order to fund their business.
Chelsea face a critical window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to bolster Enzo Maresca’s ranks.
PSV and Strasbourg interested in Penders
Whilst incomings are vital this summer, outgoings are also important and the Blues have a number of youngsters they need to find loans for.
Chelsea have used the loan system well with the likes of Andrey Santos and Djordje Petrovic this season, and they now face an important decision with Penders.
The Blues agreed a deal to sign Penders from Genk for €20m last summer and the 19-year-old remained in Belgium this season, where he kept six clean sheets in 20 appearances.
Chelsea are said to have high hopes for Penders, and now need to decide what’s best for the next step in his development.
HLN have reported Penders will be part of the Chelsea squad for the Club World Cup, but the Blues view it as an opportunity to assess him, rather than give him playing time.
The report also adds Dutch champions PSV are interested and have made enquiries, but the interest isn’t concrete yet, whilst Strasbourg are also keen.
HLN add Penders would prefer to stay at Genk for another year, with the Belgian club playing in the Europa League play-offs in August.
Chelsea interested in Martinez
The Blues have a decision to make in goal this summer, and it’s believed they will conduct a review of the goalkeeping position before deciding if they need to enter the market.
This hasn’t stopped Chelsea being linked with keepers and the Blues are reportedly interested in Aston Villa shot stopper Emi Martinez, who could be available for around £40m.
Chelsea have also been linked with Santos’ Gabriel Brazao and it will be interesting what decision the Blues come to in goal.
