Kapitza + BLIK Make Art That Moves You

If this art makes you do a double take, then it’s doing exactly what it was designed to do. BLIK’s new Folded Forms is more than just wall art, it’s wall animation. Developed in collaboration with UK-based Kapitza Studio (aka the design duo behind some of the happiest moments on the internet), these lenticular pieces shift before your eyes as you move around the room. One glance and you’re hooked. With another, you’ll realize the image has transformed into something else entirely. After all, who says wall art needs to be one dimensional?

While this may be BLIK’s first collaboration with Kapitza Studio, it’s certainly not their first time pushing the boundaries of wall decor. For over 23 years, the LA-based brand has turned blank spaces into bold statements. Their work includes graphics, murals, and lenticular art for clients like Google and Spotify. They’ve also collaborated with design lege nds like Keith Haring and Charles and Ray Eames. With Folded Forms, BLIK brings that same creative energy to the home art world – this time with a colorful twist. Kapitza Studio, founded by sisters Petra and Nicole Kapitza, is known for bold geometric compositions and vibrant, joy-filled palettes, and they’ve amped up the energy for this collaboration.

By applying two different prints onto aluminum prism columns, BLIK creates a true lenticular effect, where an image shifts depending on the viewer’s perspective. Unlike traditional lenticular art, which is flat, Folded Forms lifts the artwork off the wall. The result is a striking 3D, double-faceted piece that changes as you move around it.

The inaugural Folded Forms collection features eight limited-edition designs that are quintessentially Kapitza: bold, geometric, and full of vibrant optimism. When paired with the triangular structure, the effect is instantly mesmerizing. “They’re dynamic, ever-changing art pieces that evolve as you move, adding a playful energy to the artwork,” says Kapitza.

While murals of this caliber are usually reserved for public spaces and galleries, BLIK is bringing the experience home, making high-impact art accessible to design lovers who want their walls to feel like a curated exhibition. Because Folded Forms ships unassembled, BLIK is able to reduce the typically high costs of transporting oversized artwork. Once delivered, setup is refreshingly simple. The columns snap into place, and mounting cleats and step-by-step instructions are included. You can have it up and turning heads in as little as 15 minutes.

BLIK plans to expand the Folded Forms series through ongoing collaborations with a diverse roster of artists – the creative potential, they say, is just getting started. “The Kapitza collaboration explores geometry and color, while future artist collections will draw from 70’s-era video photography, typography, and more,” shares Scott Flora, co-founder of BLIK. “There is just so much potential to present art in this new way, and at BLIK we like to re-interpret classic archetypes for today’s consumer.” We’ll be watching – and waiting – for what (and who) comes next!
