Levi Colwill has stated new signing Joao Pedro has shocked him as he didn’t realise how good the Brazilian actually was.

Colwill is currently part of the squad preparing for the Club World Cup final against Paris Saint Germain on Sunday.

The England international is available for selection having been suspended for the semi final, and will hope he’s named in Enzo Maresca’s starting line-up.

Chelsea have gone from strength to strength as the tournament has progressed with new signings making an impact.

Delap has impressed and scored his first goal for the club, whilst Chelsea have been really boosted by the arrival of Pedro, who they were able to register for the knockout phase.

The Blues agreed a deal worth up to £60m with Brighton for Pedro, and he impressed as a second half substitute on his debut against Palmeiras.

With Delap suspended against Fluminense, Pedro stole the show with two brilliant goals to book Chelsea’s place in the final.

Pedro has made an instant impact, and Colwill has admitted he didn’t actually realise how good his new team-mate was.

“I think he’s an amazing player,” he told Hayters TV.

“I watched him at Brighton and I’ve known him since he was at Watford when everyone was talking about him.

“To see him here shows how amazing he is. I didn’t realise how good he is until you train with him and see him on the pitch. Top, top player.”

Chelsea to sign another forward?

The Blues have made three attacking signings this summer, but bringing another attacker in hasn’t been entirely ruled out.

With Noni Madueke leaving for Arsenal, Chelsea could look to replace the England international, although one of their targets Mohammed Kudus has now joined Tottenham.

There have been links to Hugo Ekitike but they’ve gone quiet recently, whilst Lyon’s Malick Fofana is also a name of interest.

If Nicolas Jackson leaves then the Blues will certainly have to enter the market, but right now it’s unclear if they will look to replace Madueke.
