Ready for another neonatal resuscitation challenge? In this second Megacode scenario, you’ll need to apply your NRP skills in a new emergency situation. Test your ability to recognize key signs, respond with appropriate interventions, and make time-critical decisions to support a newborn in distress.

🩺 Scenario Highlights (⚠️WARNING⚠️: might contain some answer clues/spoilers):
◾ A 39-week newborn is delivered flaccid and apneic with a heart rate of 56 bpm (normal ≥100 bpm).
◾Despite PPV at 40–60 breaths/min and MR. SOPA adjustments, HR remains low.
◾Chest compressions are performed at 90 per minute with a 3:1 compression-to-ventilation ratio for 60 seconds before reassessment.
◾When the heart rate remains 56 bpm, compressions and PPV continue until it rises to 80 bpm, at which point compressions stop and PPV is resumed at 40–60 breaths/min.
◾Once the heart rate exceeds 100 bpm, the team transitions to postresuscitation care.
