Engineers at MIT have developed a revolutionary sticker-sized ultrasound device that adheres to the skin and captures real-time, high-resolution images of internal organs for up to 48 hours. Unlike traditional bulky ultrasound machines, this wearable patch allows continuous imaging during activities like jogging, lifting weights, or even sitting at rest — all without the need for technicians or gels.

The secret lies in its design: a rigid transducer array embedded in a flexible adhesive layer filled with hydrogel. It stays firmly in place and gives clear images of deep organs like the heart, lungs, stomach, and major blood vessels. Researchers even tracked muscle changes during workouts and stomach movement after juice intake.

Currently, the sticker still needs a wired connection for imaging, but wireless, AI-powered versions are in development. Imagine having a box of ultrasound stickers at home that sync with your phone and offer instant health insights — that’s what the future holds.
