This thoughtful renovation project by Homesmith Design to the kitchen, bathrooms, and living spaces solved design challenges and elevated functionality. Creative solutions and cohesive details made this home as practical as it is beautiful.

“We incorporated a light strip under the edge of the island seating area as part of a broader plan to weave under‑cabinet lighting throughout the kitchen. We wanted to introduce an extra layer of interest in what is otherwise a very minimal space. Lighting is such an under‑utilized design element—many kitchens include integrated lighting, but it rarely gets the attention it deserves in photography or even in day‑to‑day use.
Designer Tip: To achieve this look, you have to plan for it early. During countertop fabrication, the stone fabricator cuts a hidden channel into the underside edge of the slab, and the contractor leaves a whip ready so the LED strip can be tied into power. It’s a subtle detail that makes the island feel elevated and intentional, especially in the evening when that soft glow really comes to life.” – Homesmith Design
