To keep the summer slide at bay, Hasbro is launching a line of learning materials for parents, daycare providers, and educators to use to keep learning fun. Ranging from five to 15 minutes, each activity comes with step-by-step instructions and options to expand on the lesson.

Some educational activities under the Play-Doh Learning Lab line include “Slice of the Pie,” where kids can create their own pizza slice while learning about fractions; “Music Monsters,” where kids learn about how music can help express emotions or inspire new ideas; and the “Creature-ologist” activity, where kids can create new creatures and learn about biology. Each lesson encourages kids to use their unique imaginations while sculpting with Play-Doh compounds, fostering open-ended play. Hasbro is also launching a custom Amazon store for the Learning Lab, a one-stop shop for Play-Doh playsets, activity kits, compounds, and downloadable worksheets and resources.

The Learning Lab is an expansion of the Play-Doh Imagination Curriculum, created after the brand’s 2023 study, “Imagination Is A Superpower,” in which it was discovered that parents believed that imagination was not a skill prioritized by modern education methods. According to the study, 72 percent of the parents polled felt that kids were not using their creativity and imaginations as much as before, with 48 percent of teens claiming that stress was the biggest contributor to the decrease in creativity.

With the Learning Lab, Play-Doh aims to strengthen kids’ creative problem-solving skills and balance learning with having fun. Visit the Play-Doh Learning Lab Amazon storefront for more details and materials.
