Al-Shabaab Terrorists Kill At Least 7 Ugandan Soldiers in Somalia | Firstpost Africa | N18G

Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda-linked militant group, continues to pose a major threat in Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa. In a recent clash, seven Ugandan soldiers serving under the African Union mission were killed during a three-day siege in Saabid Anole, a town used by militants to plan attacks and extort locals. The operation, dubbed “Silent Storm,” resulted in the deaths of 30 Al-Shabaab fighters. Despite being pushed back in recent years, the group remains active. The African Union mission, now known as AUSSOM, faces manpower and funding shortages, even as the threat of a jihadist resurgence grows.
