Taylor Swift is unknowingly putting any lingering rumors about her stomach to rest.

The beloved pop star surprised fans last week with news about the release of her 12th studio album. The project, which is called “The Life of a Showgirl” will be about the moments behind her most recent tour called “Eras Tour.”

Upon sharing the news on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce’s podcast, she also released the album cover, the track list, and posted accompanying photos of the album on Instagram. After studying the photos, the Swifties noticed one major detail that debunked old gossip about her belly button.

Fans noticed, in one of her risqué album photos, Swift wore a feathered body chain bra and bikini set with a matching head piece. Underneath the bra chain, she wore a flesh-colored bra and had on flesh-colored undergarments with matching stockings under the bikini portion.

The outfit was quite revealing, showing her hips, legs, and abdomen — and it was in this picture that Swifties spotted her belly button.

One person commenting on a TikToker’s video about the subject wrote, “I GASPED when i saw this photo, literally jaw HIT THE FLOOR.”

Someone else in disbelief said, “I thought it was AI at first because the old Taylor would never!”

Another diehard fan typed, “I felt insane when I zoomed in on it.”

For people who are not a part of Swift’s fan club, it’s bizarre to see those who are freaking out over what is such a common part of an individual’s body.

But it’s because over the years, Swift would often wear things that would cover the lower part of her stomach. Even if she did wear a crop top, whatever bottoms she paired with it would typically be high waisted. So her navel rarely ever saw the light of day.

But this wasn’t the first time fans saw her belly button and that huge moment was something Swift felt forced to do. Going back to the year 2015, the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer was spotted on a boat trip with Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim — sisters who make up a band called Haim.

The girls trip took place in Hawaii, and they initially didn’t plan to post photos. They attempted to steer clear of paparazzi. But according to Swift, on their last day of vacation, Swift’s security ended up spotting a photographer in a fishing boat in the distance. That’s when she and the other women began to strategize.

“At which point, we go back to the beach and we realize, ‘OK, so they got pictures of us in our bikinis, like, I don’t want them to make like $100,000 for stalking us,’” she said on “Grimshaw Live” that same year. “So we’re like, ‘Get up on the bow of the boat. We’re taking better bikini shots, so they don’t make as much money on theirs.’”

The “Shake It Off” singer has been photographed several times on a beach with her stomach out since then, but the constant conversation about her belly button could stem from a statement she made in an interview with Lucky magazine.

“I don’t like showing my belly button,” Swift stated in 2015, according to ABC 13. “When you start showing your belly button then you’re really committing to the midriff thing. I only partially commit to the midriff thing-you’re only seeing lower rib cage. I don’t want people to know if I have one or not.”

“I want that to be a mystery,” she continued. “As far as anyone knows based on my public appearances, they haven’t seen evidence of a belly button. It could be pierced. They have no idea. If I’m going to get some sort of massive tattoo, it’s going to be right next to my belly button because no one’s ever going to see that.”

Swift, who is considered by many as one of the most influential celebrities, appears to be making a shift in how she presents herself with this album. The “The Life of a Showgirl” images appear to be more dark, theatrical and alluring with lights, feathers and gaudy jewelry than the “Marry Me” singer’s bubbly and bright rollouts from her previous album covers.

The album has 12 songs, with Sabrina Carpenter being the only feature, and it is set to be released on Oct. 3.
