Israeli troops raided Al Jazeera’s bureau in the occupied West Bank. The exchange between an IDF soldier and local bureau chief, Walid al-Omari, was aired live on the broadcaster’s Arabic-language channel. Soldiers ordered the office to be shut for 45 days. The move marked the first time Israel has ever shuttered a foreign news outlet’s operations.
