After trying Mimulus Flower Essence with my cat recently with amusing but great success, I decided to try it for myself. I get nervous driving. I worry about any new thing I need to do on my job. I overplan and overthink a lot of things. These are small but persistently annoying fears—not panic level—but they definitely get in the way of a relaxed and confident-feeling attitude towards life. So the experiment has begun.

First impressions? Damn, I should have tried this one earlier. I was just assuming this was “the way I am.” And THAT is because the type of fears that Mimulus addresses best are those that have become a habit. It’s for the everyday variety of worry that people tend to put up with or try to work around rather than the type that is completely overwhelming and panic-inducing. (The difference between Mimulus and Rock Rose.)

Mimulus is in the Monkeyflower family. There are actually several Monkeyflowers and they all address exaggerated fears. The original Bach Flower Remedy seems like a great overall fit for issues that manifest as lack of courage. It’s great for shyness and fears you can name such as worries about things you know you have to face rather than fears of the unknown. (Aspen is best for that.)
Try it and see what you think! You can find Reiki-infused dosage strength droppers and unscented sprays in my Etsy shop.

Flower essences are used to assist with mind-body-spirit interactions and individual results may vary. They are extremely dilute which makes them quite safe. But because so little physical substance can be detected in a flower essence solution, these products are presumed to work on an energetic or vibrational level—something that cannot be adequately tested by western scientific methods. Claims made by me, therefore, are based on personal experiences and the evidence of the combined multiple decades of case notes by Dr. Edward Bach as well as Healing Herbs and Flower Essence Services (the companies who make the ingredients I use in my products). This is not, however, accepted medical evidence or substantiated scientific evidence from a modern allopathic point of view. I am not a medical doctor or licensed healthcare practitioner.
