Huawei has officially launched its Watch GT 6 series and the Watch Ultimate 2 at an event in Paris, unveiling a lineup focused on enhanced cycling features, advanced health tracking, and long-lasting battery life. The GT 6 range includes the Watch GT 6 Pro and the standard Watch GT 6 in 41 mm and 46 mm versions. With support for cycling performance metrics, emotional monitoring, and precision positioning, the watches aim to cater to both fitness enthusiasts and everyday users.
Watch GT 6 Pro
The Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro is the most advanced of the lineup, introducing industry-first support for virtual cycling power. This metric calculates a rider’s performance using real-time speed, incline, and weight factors, without requiring an external power meter. The watch can also connect to external power meters for more precise FTP (Functional Threshold Power) data, assisting cyclists in improving training efficiency.
Connectivity with the Huawei Health app enhances usability, allowing smartphones to act as external cycling computers for real-time data display. The watch has a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with a brightness of 3,000 nits, a 46 mm case, and comes in several finishes, including titanium metal, composite fabric, and fluoroelastomer straps.
Battery life is a major highlight, with claims of up to 21 days in moderate use, 12 days typical use, and 40 hours in outdoor sports mode. Advanced features include ECG analysis, pulse wave arrhythmia monitoring, and the new TruSense emotional monitoring system, which detects 12 emotional states and introduces a “Cuteness Relief” mode designed for stress reduction. Outdoor adventurers benefit from the Sunflower Positioning System for precise GPS tracking, along with functions tailored to trail running, golf, and skiing. Safety is enhanced with fall detection and SOS alerts.
Watch GT 6 – 41 mm and 46 mm
The standard Watch GT 6 series shares many features with the Pro, including virtual cycling power, route importation, and automatic pedaling detection. The 46 mm model matches the Pro’s impressive battery life of up to 21 days in moderate use, while the 41 mm version offers up to 14 days. Typical daily use sees around 12 days in the 46 mm model and 7 days in the 41 mm.
Design customizations also distinguish these models. The 46 mm variant comes in green and black with composite or fluoroelastomer straps. Meanwhile, the 41 mm version is available in black, purple, and white with a leather-like strap, featuring pivoting lugs for easier band swaps.
Watch Ultimate 2
The Watch Ultimate 2 is the new premium smartwatch from the brand with upgrades in battery, sensors, and diving features. The model maintains a sapphire crystal design but now has a more angular 46 mm case with IP69 and 20ATM resistance, supporting dives up to 150 meters.
It features a 1.5-inch AMOLED LTPO display with 3,500 nits brightness and improved sensors, including the new X-Tap, which measures seven health parameters in one minute. Divers benefit from sonar communication up to 30 meters and SOS signals up to 60 meters. It includes eSIM, ECG, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and 20 pro sports modes.
